If you go with a 14 bolt get it out of a 3/4 ton. The spring perches are in a different place on the 1 ton.

i know it is not the same but on my 98 Z71 i swapped in a 6 lug 14 bolt after i blew up my 10 bolt. and i was told the same thing about the ujoint, however when i brought it to the driveline place they told me they don't make those ujoints anymore. so they took my old driveshaft and welded a bigger yoke on the end of it. after it was re-tubed, welded, and balanced, it ended up costing alot more than i wanted to spend. oh well it was worth it in the end.

they still make those hybrid U-joints.  I think they were just after your money, how much did they hit you up for the shaft?

well i went in there with all my research and showed him articles i printed online and i measured my yoke and had the part number for the ujoint i needed and he knew what i was talking about and he still said they can't get them. and i didn't feel like waiting or driving 5 hours to get another opinion. make a long story short, for my "one of a kind custom shaft" they charged me 400 bones
