OK, here's the deal. My Qjet was working fine until...I missed with it. It's on my 79 C-20 with a 350 that had EGR valve and all the emissions stuff. I rebuilt the engine minus all the emissions stuff and replaced the stock intake with a Summit Stage 1. Anyway I had run the vacum advance off of the carb at first and I decided to run the vacum advance straight off the manifold pressure, I had a two part vacum connection on the intake and I replaced it with a three port connection I had on another truck. so to remove the two port and reinstall the three port, the fast idle pulloff solinoid was in the way.
I thought I would be able to just unscrew it and let it hang out of the way but the rods came unhooked. The rod on top was no problem to get back on but the long rod on the bottom was a pain. I could not see where it was supposed to becase my view was blocked by the thermal? choke. I had lights, a mirror and I still could not see in there.
Against my better judgement I finally took the choke cover off and loosened the long screw inside that holds it to the carb. I pulled it out just far enough to see down in there and get the end of the rod reconnected.
Long story short. Now I have no fast idle when you first start it up and I would really like to have it on these cold mornings. PS. I had marked the cover/ adjuster before removing it and lined it back up in the same place. Is the something I did wrong when installing the cover like not lining the little thermal spring back up in the right place. A classic examle of a 15 minute job turning into a nightmare. Sorry so long. I'm gonna go look at it late when it warms up some and it gets a little lighter outside.
Thanks,
