e3 spark plugs

Did anyone catch the episode on Powerblock about the e3 spark splugs?

What do you all think about them? Besides the paid advertisement part, are they really better?

a test was done with "a competitor plug" hmmmmm, how many miles were on that competitor's spark plug and what was the gap?
these tests can be rigged, 'specially when money is on the table.  

A spark is a spark is a spark.  Can you say, advertising gimmick?  Marketing gimmick?  Sure is a money maker though.

I tried those plugs a few years ago in my 350 when I first bought my truck(before I did anything to it) and I didn't notice a difference.  They fouled quickly just like my other plugs.  I think I paid $80+ for the set.  Definately wasn't worth it to me.

I seen it. and it made me want a set .. I got a hook up at autozone i am surpost to get a set for nothing going to run them in my LS1 soon as i am done bolting it in.. I will share any info on them.

Can you elaborate? I've had a set of +4's in my car for 5.5 years now. No probs for me.

working at autozone we refused to sell these and left them on the shelf. autozone lost a lot of business over these plugs, seen these come apart in the engine, if they work for you then he that is good, everyone has there preference, you could give me Bosch plugs for the rest of my life and i would toss them. but that is how i feel, mainly cause i sold them shortly until we were asked by autozone managers to stop selling them due to reported problems just autozone (corp) had to keep them on the shelf.

that is just my .02  Honestly if you have run them for that long with no problems i am glad to hear that, maybe they have improved some over time.

I second that, had a brand new set in my Chevelle.  Lasted 2 weeks and one went out.  Replaced that one and 2 days later another one quit working.  Took them out and put the good ole AC and had no problems in the year I kept that one...

The cheap Bosch Platinum's are garbage. Do no use them. If you want to invest in a better ignition system, start with a distributor, coil and cd module.

I run Autolites or AC delcos. Never let me down. We had a Jeep come in the shop I worked in that ran aweful. Boss said probably needed a tuneup, and the customer stated they had just replaced the sparkplugs with the Splitfire plugs. We swapped them for some Autolites, and it ran like a dream. We had a spark generator at the shop, (dont know the proper name, but you could hook it up to bypass the coil on certain vehicles), hooked it up to the Splitfire plugs and checked the spark. No dual spark,not even a bright blue spark. with what I have learned about electronics in the last 14 years, it would take 100,000 volts to even come close to having enough power to possibly generate two sparks, and then its doubtful.
  As was stated, 'a spark is a spark is a spark' proper heat ranges, and ignition systems working at max efficiency is the key. The multi electrode plugs may work ok, but its doubtful they are any benefit to performance or normal street driven vehicles, if on anything at all.

Listen up people, spark plug electrodes will not make a better spark. You'd be better off indexing your plugs. Although GM's HEI is a huge leap over points they are easily improved upon. You can modify an HEI and hope for better results but a capacitive discharge module is the way to go along with a better distributor and coil. I never recommend MSD or the like without upgrading all of the ignition components. Keep in mind I can take two spark plugs and gap them the same and have two different firing voltages. These are resistor plugs in these engines so comparing one plug to another is easily biased. I've said it many times, one of your best noticeable upgrades is to the ignition system where you'll actually notice the difference but do it the right way.
