Heater/AC Blower has three speeds....
« on: January 18, 2010, 09:06:04 pm »
My '86 Silverado blower has three speeds - off, low and Hurricane Hugo.  I'm missing the two speeds in the middle.  I put a new control panel on it a year ago and I never noticed the problem with the blower speeds until this winter.

What can cause that?  Hopefully, it's something that I can get to without removing the instrument panel.  Sigh.

Thanks

Check the blower resistor. It's located in the heater box in the engine compartment.

i have low-low missing low med high, but before i messed with anything i only had low replaced the resistor only to have the same problem while i had the resistor out in my hand i tapped on the relay box right under the resistor and fans cam on thats when i had everything but low switch the resistors back out and still had the same speeds. but like it was told to me give the s/c housing a tap around the relay and see if that fixes your problem the blower motor resistor will be right on top with a plug going to it
