Good luck in your search.  I could not find a good used one for my 86 which the colar is broke and the PO put a crappy floor shifter in.  I have given up, found a floor shift column and switching to a 4 speed.  I am with you on liking the old school.

i drove a '72 three speed on the column for a boss when i was a teenager--doing yard work, etc... I loved that truck.  I'd rest my right arm on the shifter while driving...quite comfortable.

I got a few people when I still had mine in. They thought it was an auto. It was fun, but I think my trucks got a 4.11 in there b/c I was runnin about 4500 at 55mph

83 citation - 2.5L Four on the Floor!
88 sierra - reman 350 700r4 "Eleanor"
All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

Sounds about right. I had an 86 2wd with a 4.3 and a hurst on the floor. It still had the shifter on the colunm but who knows if it worked.

I bought a new 81'  Custom Deluxe C-10 SWB with a I6-250 and the 3 on the tree....so I know they had them in 1981! If only I would have kept her!

I have a 79 that WAS 3 on the tree. I yanked the column out and put in an automatic column and a TH400. The column shifter was worn out and I didnt want to cut a hole in the floor for a floor shifter.
