Chassis saver + S8 Reducer
«

I only need about 1 qt of Chassis Saver at a time, but the gallon size is much more economical and I would probably use the whole thing within a month or two, just not all on one application. I read somewhere you can pour a thin layer of their S8 reducer over the top before you reseal the can and it will help preserve it.
Q: Has anyone tried this, and how well did it work?
I poured a thin layer of lacquer thinner over the top of a quart size once and resealed it, but it still developed a thick "skin" that I had to cut through the next time I opened it.
Q: Should I just buy the gallon size and let it skin over and just cut through when I need to use more?

I have never heard that before, but it might work. If you make sure the lid of the can is clean, and I mean like a brand new can clean, then put a piece of two mill plastic of it before you put the lid back on it will do wonders. Eventually it will develop the skin but it takes allot longer. Also try not to distort the lid or can when opening, and closing it. Another tip is to store the can up side down. If it develops a skin then it will be under the paint when you use it the next time.

I store it in my garage fridge and it lasts a long time.

Fridge storage sounds like a great idea. Think I will try that and the reducer thing on the gallon size.
Thanks!
