Hi, I finally got my new crate engine and will pull the original 250 in a couple weeks...can I use the six's engine brackets? Thanks!

Thanks!Glad to hear you made it home safely.As far as the brackets, from what I understand the 250 6 cyl brackets will work fine with a sb/bb, its the 292 6 cyl that you run into problems with the brackets.
Yup, I'm going to stick with my 3 speed Saginaw for a while. The prices for even a used and abused 4 speed are crazy. By the way, I am very annoyed with the floor shifter and I'm thinking of bending my own custom shifter stick out of a steel rod that they sell at hardware stores.The shifting mechanism= good, The actual shifter stick= too short, wrong bend, not that great. You'd think a company like Hurst would have a decent stick for the very popular '73-'87 Chevrolets. Not yet.
