4X4 QUESTION
« on: February 28, 2010, 02:04:21 am »
Pardon me for the stupid questions I ask on here but I know not much about 4x4. heck I really only know the basics as far as a car goes. Anyways enough preface now to the question? I am trying to take of the front drive shaft off my 73 k10. I got the front off with no problems yet the back where its connected to the transfer case im having issues. Anyone have any tips or tricks? Thanks for any help

use a 1/2" swivel head socket and if you looking at it from the passengers side lock the transfer case and just work that bolt out then unlock the transfer case and rotate the shaft till the next bolt is in that spot

Yea just do what Irish said.  Then take a pry bar and pry it off the flange on the transfer case.  They usually get stuck on the transfer.
