Driveshaft removal problem.

I have an '83 short-wide with a TH350 that leaks like sieve.  I need to remove the tail housing to fix the leaks in the slip yoke and speedo cable.  I've taken off the "u" clamps at the rear yoke but can't get the front yoke to budge so I can get the rear of the shaft out of the U joint.  If anyone has any tips on how to break the slip yoke loose, I would greatly appreciate it.

Heat would be your best bet.  Rust penetrating oil may work if you let it soak a while.  Good Luck

Once the straps are off just take a large screwdriver or prybar and seperate the yoke from the trunion.

I've got it on a 40% grade, on ramps and on fire.  Could this be my problem?     Thanks for the help guys.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something painfully obvious.

My 94 sticks even when it was a couple months since I last removed the shaft I take a pry bar under the truck with me everytime
