EBAY vendor warning
« on: March 28, 2010, 09:46:41 am »
I just to wanted to give everyone a heads up on a guy I dealt with recently on Ebay, (just_chevy_trucks), that my experience has shown him to be one of the ebay vendors to stay away from. I bought a 4 speed pedal setup and hydraulic bell setup from him to convert my 87 V30 to a manual.  The price was slightly high but this guy claims to be an all chevy truck junkyard so I figured the guys knows his stuff and I am getting all the rights parts for the swap.  This was in the middle of winter before both huge snow storms.  Having no garage I wanted to gather the parts and be ready when the weather broke. The box had lots of foam padding inside and initially I all looks okay.  Well, install time comes and a more thorough inspection of parts revealed that the plastic clutch master reservoir was cracked, the bracket that mounts it is bent, the clutch safety start switch is broken with missing pieces, the clutch master cylinder leaks and the brake pedal arm itself was completely unusable due to a difference in the distance from the pivot point the arm swings from to the welded stud that the booster push rod attaches to.  I reinstalled my auto brake pedal arm and cut the pedal pad part down to manual trans size.  The vendor says he will work with you up to 30 days.  Part of my problem was it was past 30 days.  I wrote the guy, Kurt, and explained my issues, told him I bought a new clutch master, $31.99 at Advance.  His reply was the 30 days was up, but not set in stone, but I worked through the problems, so basically go pound sand!  No offer to replace the clutch safety switch, no refund for the clutch master, or the incorrect pedal arm, all of which was his fault.   ??? >:( My advice is to shop elsewhere.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people selling junk that they know is not up to par and they sell it anyway. I bought an emblem from a guy on eBay a month ago and it arrived broken. There was a piece missing. His reply was
Quote
i wrapped it in bubble wrap i am sorry to here it got damaged
So now he gets negative feedback. He should have offered to refund my money. I always try to check in things I order right away in case there is a problem but I know sometimes you don't know until you go to use it.

I just recently ordered an "in stock" roll pan off of a guy on ebay and it took 2 months to get it, and when I got it I could tell it was just made as it smelled like fresh resin

Just Chevy Trucks AFAIK sells used parts only.  Did he indicated everything was new?  Basically he is a junk yard.

The only part he indicated was new was the fluid line from the clutch master to the slave cylinder.  Parts were supposed to be usable, which they were not.  After I emailed him he had absolutely no interest in any way of trying to make any singe part of it right, whether it be replace or refund.  Won't do business with him again and I encourage everyone here to steer clear as well due to his misrepresentation.
