shift linkage

I've been having some issues with my shifter linkage in my 86 lwb since I put in the new motor and transmission. I replaced all the bussings and the retainer spring and the shift lever is firm into each gear but does not line up right with the indicator and I cannot allways get it all the way into park for it to lock in the parking paw in the transmission.could the linkage arms be bent if so where could I get replacements?

Any adjustment on the later models? My '73 had a bolt down by the transmission, on the shift rod, that would give you some adjustment if needed.
(end of the shift rod to the equalizer arm.)

I don't believe there is an adjustment bolt but ill take a look. Its kinda aggervating. I live in a hilly area and the e brake doesn't always hold enough.

There is an adjustment bolt. Make sure the bushings and spring didn't pop out. Make sure the shift tube isn't cracked. Once you adjust it you can adjust your prindl gauge to line up.

Follow the linkage rod from the shift tube on the column down near the bellhousing. You can't miss it.

Is it where the two rods intersect and the one goes into the bushing on the frame with the spring?
