Aluminum dash bezel resto
« on: May 03, 2010, 12:37:45 pm »
My dash bezel is starting to flake apart and is all scratched up.  Does anyone know of a way to replace the stuff that has fallen off?  Can i get a new aluminum overlay? (stick on?) or do i need to buy a whole new bezel?

Pics show the style bezel I'm talking about and the worst spot.

I dont remember where, but someone offers a new aluminum overlay. I think it is the one piece. I didnt bother saving the link because I have a 3 piece aluminum gauge panel.

In my opinion you would be better off just taking a piece of sheet aluminum and cutting it to fit, and then attaching it through whatever means will make it permanent. All the overlays that I have seen are way too thick, for some reason. Like they think you need a 1/8" thick overlay to replace a 1/100 inch overlay.

I know this is old, but where did you find the overlay and how did it come out?

Too many other things have come up, I haven't gotten to making it pretty yet, but that one place has them and the links above are good.
