it shoves the rear of the spring down ~8 inches..  if it did it was less than an inch.

got my 2wd box and cross over steering installed... went alot easier then expected.

got to do some things to the 52" springs the bushing got installed on the wrong end on one spring so i got to flip the top spring around.
i have new rubber bushing installed 3" up front and 3.5" out back..
then install then srpings
cut then u-bolt down
install shock towers upper and lower mounts.. friend is hooking me up with some 33" long(12-13" stroke) full extention shocks for the front.. i will mount them so i have 4-5" of compression left
measuer for front drive shaft both fully compressed and extended lenghts.. rough gues is i will need something with ~10" of slip travel.
will get pictures up soon  :)

the 4wd is a 3 blind shaft... and only allow the pitnam are to run(stroke) f/r. with a ~2' drag link.. which quickly become out alingment when you start flexing the truck and connects to the DS steering knucle.

the 2wd is a 4 blind shaft and allow the pitnam to stroke l/r  thus allowing one to run a ~4-5' drag link and connect to the PS steering knuckle. allowing one to run upwards of 4x(15" verticle) the wheel travel without binding the steering up with the poor steering geometry from the factory..

ohhh okay i think i understand what your saying...so is the only real modification to make the 2wd box work is a longer drag link?

yes since the 2wd in normal fasion the pitnam arm swings l/r to operate you normal 2wd IFS steering linkage.  i got the corss over kit form ORD. the drag link runs from slightly left of the left frame rail to the top of the PS knukle.. ~4.5'.. im sure you can imagin how flat that arc will be at the knuckle side of the drag link vs the ~2' DL in the oem 4x4 setup.

ord cross over with stock lift. and 2wd box

4+1 1/2t 52" rear spring install and sittin at ride hieght

stock lenght shock not quite long enough.. stock is ~18" long i went and bout a par of rear that are ~24" mounted them in the stock loaction... will be re-doing both top and bottom mounts.

pas side shot of steering linkage

front axle sits ~1/2" back.. due to the way i mounted the front hangers... i have another hole i move it forwars and probly will

~2.5' mound dotn have the fornt drive shaft installed/made yet.

max flex no binding  ;D

at full flex/compression

begining hieght

current height

ride quality is 10x better!!!!!!!!!! the 2-3" deep pot hole in my brothers drive are barely noticeable.. and feels much like a IFS
still on the list of thing is
measurements for front driveshaft
re-do front shock mounts
steering dampner.
panhard bar
better engine cross member
sway bar re-instal/modification... lots of body roll ride now.
replace last 12" of rear frame horns install 63" 2500HD rear springs
get an alignment

Do the frames on these trucks really flex that much,or is it just your truck?(looking at bed to cab movement in pix)

the driver side fron cab mount is shot... the floor support is rusted in half..

compare the front bumper angle to the rear bumper angle... that will give you a really good idea..

the bed hasnt really twisted since i put a GN plate in the bed

next onthe list if engine x-member and track/panhard bar... @45mph you hit a bump right you get some good DW not tomention when the locker in the back locks or unlocks.... over/under steer is greatly pronouced
