2500 HD wheels on my 86 rub

I have installed the 2500 HD wheels and tires on my 1986 1 ton crew cab 4x4. Tires are 265/75/17. The problem is that the left tire rubs on the steering link when I turn all the way to the right. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what can I do to fix it?

Can We get a pic of your truck with those wheels on it?  I have the 16 inch rims, but have been wondering how the 17's would look.   

If the offset on your 17's is similar to the offset on my 16's, a set of 2" wheel spacers would fix you right up.  If I keep my 2500HD wheels, I'm getting spacers for them.

stop making left turns. ups has done this and they have saved allot of money but like78 said wheel spacers should do the trick

Make sure your steering isnt off. Turn the wheels each way and see if they turn farther to one side than the other.

with your tires off cause the one will bind you all ready know that

Here is a picture of the truck. It may look rough, but it does everything I ask it to. 4 speed 410 gears and 454 engine. I will go and check the offset and check the steering. I have no experience with spacers. I guess a wider stance is a good thing. I bought the used rims and tires because I am cheap, and it was cheaper than buying new tires. Plus I think it is an upgrade. I don't want to spend more money, but if I have to buy spacers then I want the good ones. What brand should I be looking at. Does anyone have a good source?

Depending on how wide you want to go, ebay has a large variety of aluminum spacers, but for more than an in each side i'd look into steel ones for strength.

I think a solid peice of cnc cut aluminum would be plenty strong. I have not steel spacers. I would think a 2 inch chunk of steel on each wheel would have to add alot of unsuspended weight right?

Thanks Chevrado. I have measured the back spacing on the wheels. The new HD wheels are 7/8 inch more backspace. Plus wider tires and I am about 1 1/4 more on the inside of the truck. I am looking at buying 1 1/2 inch spacers. The original lugs are 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 long and I don't want to cut them if I can help it. So I will go with the 1 1/2 inch spacers. Should I do all four wheels or just the front? I am thinking all four
