As the title says, I need pics of an installed ignition switch on a tilt wheel truck. I've been working on putting in my new painless harness for the past few days after work, just had today and tomorrow off to finish it up, but hit a major snag. I pulled my old harness out to assess the damage from the meltdown several weeks ago, and when I started to install my new ignition switch, it didn't look right and nothing lined up, even though the switch is right..it looks like I managed to twist the actuator rod around to the right when I took the old switch out, and it shattered the side of my new switch about the time I had the screw slots lined up. I don't know how I could have accidentally twisted that thing, as trying to twist it back so it should fit right, it was under enough tension that the key wouldn't turn, but it sprung right back.

Yeah i looked over that thread last night, went through it again just now to be sure I didn't miss it, but it doesn't give a clear view of the switch on top of the column. I'm going to pick up another switch today and get it mounted and temporarily operate it with a piece of stiff wire til I have time to address it properly.
I appreciate the attempt, that thread actually shows the switch, but its in the shadows.

Only reason I'm trying to get it together in such a short amount of time is I'm in a time crunch, my car's tags expire this month and it has a cracked windshield that wont pass inspection, AND i have it up for sale, but I can't have an unlicensed vehicle in the open, and my truck is taking up the only usable bay of my shop. So, I have to try to get my truck fixed, transfer the insurance, and get it re-licensed before the end of the month. This painless harness has been fairly painful thus far..FYI, the 73-87 kit says its for a heat only cab, and if you want to keep the AC, you have to use your old wiring..actually, you don't, the new harness is set up for AC...I spent a few hours carefully separating my AC harness, cleaning it up and eliminating the heat wiring that I didn't need, then got to the AC/heat part of the new harness and found the AC control wiring, all I needed was the plastic connector off the old harness.

what exactly are you trying to see?  I took the pics for the tech article when I fixed my truck.

Lower the access panel and the column and it's right there. If you can unplug it to plug in the new one you're right there. Just change it out.

I've replaced the switch before, and took the one that was damaged by the meltdown off several weeks ago, and when I went to install the new one, the actuator rod was pointing straight up, and when twisted around to the left as you sit in the truck, in order to fit in the new switch, it has so much tension that it shattered out the side of the switch long before I had the switch down far enough to get the screws on.

On a brighter note, I started the truck yesterday, I've just got the switch hanging down under the dash, and operated it with a small screwdriver. Last things remaining are to route and connect the tail light wiring, and the headlight harness..and of course, to address the switch problem.
