Converter to flexplate?

I have herd that you need to torque your converter bolts, and I have herd that you just need to get them tight? Which is it? Th350 with 12"small pattern converter to a 355 flexplate.

Torque is critical but if you don't have a torque wrench use thread locker, install them all then go around and tighten them up.

"tighten" them up is close enough to torque.

I don't put a torque wrench on them but I do make sure they are as tight as I can get them. Not by hand either, with a good long boxxed end wrench or 1/2 drive ratchet.

USE loctite for sure, had one come loose recently, first time ever, casued a bad vibration, definately need it to be safe.

I have never had one come loose on me, I use a box end wrench, blue thread locker, and the three grunt method!

That's what I use the ummmmffffff method or grunt, but I didn't use loctite and one came loose.

I had 2 of three loose    It rattled pretty good and that's why I went to investigate. One was about to fall out, one was hand-tight and the other seemed tight. I tightened them up as much as I could but I did not use Loctite, but I should go back in there and do that.

 I will use locktite and my elbow torque wrench! &Hope they don't fall out.

when I changed transmissions in my 94 I didn't use lock tight just hand tight well they backed out put them in with clear fingernail polish and hand tight still 5 years later haven't backed out

you know guys I know it's wrong and you need loctite, but I had the stock TC  in my monte carlo only hand torqued as tight as I could go with the ratchet or wrench, and never had a problem. Then I had the 2k stall in it with a shift kit stage 2 from b&m and 3.42's and beat on it hard, had the grade 8 bolts from napa, and they just thread in no nuts on the backside since the 2k had threaded feet, no locitie same method of tightening and never had a problem. Now the same motor and flexplate, and stall converter are in the 84 c10 and not even a year later had the one back out to finger tight, actually looser then finger tight. I grabbed it and gave it 1/4 to half turn by hand, that's how I knew it was loose LOL, other then the bad shake it had. First time I ever had one do it to me. Actually had 2 loose that one and another was a turn loose by the wrench. I took em all out and used the loctite gel I think, comes in a tube and yout twist it, like a glue stick does, I think it's the blue kind. Now that's only been like a month or two ago, now I gotta take em all back out since we are changing transmissions.
