hey everyone. i just finished replacing a flywheel on my 292-6 in a 77 3/4 ton 2wd. i reconnected trans and go to put in gear and it doen't want to move. plus my brakes go all the way to the floor and my pwr.steering is gone. i know thepwr. steering fluid is low but how do i fix one and end w/ two new problems. as far as i can tell all my vac lines are connected, i'm baffled. thanks for any advice.

What transmission is in it? Auto or manual?
Do you have hydroboost?
Top off your fluids.

Man your having nothing but bad luck with this truck lol. But I imagine its auto since you have a fly wheel and never said anything about the pressure plate, is your shifter moving and the linkage on the trans is moving? stupid question but you did bolt the tq converter back up right? Almost sounds like hydro boost problem if you have it don’t know much about them but like vile said check your fluid level

Flywheel is for a stick, flex plate for an automatic.
If its a stick is the clutch disc. in backward. A backward clutch disc will not let the trans go into gear except when not running.

yes this truck has been a thorn in my side but how often do you come across an old crew cab. i went to shift into gear and it wanted to go forward, but had to give it a lot of gas and would still barely move. some fluid came out when putting tranny back in but i didn't think that would make a diff. it has the th 400 trans. my u joints were kind of tight going in would they bind driveshaft up?

Did you fill the torque converter with atf before installing?

i'm thinking i only lost a qt if that. i'm getting it warmed up now to check. i didn't take out the torque conv. would that make a diff? my brake fluid was low so i fixed that. going to get a new pwr. steering pump this w/e so hopefully another prob. down.
