New Member from Okla. 85 SWB

I posted a pic of my 85 in the Welcome column, but thought I'd post a few here also. I've owned this old truck for years. It was a long bed I cut down, it's a Scottsdale w, windows, locks, cruise, a/c. 350 w/ headers, intake, edel carb. The interior is a few years old but still looks fine for a daily driver. Currently have it to apart to put new spindles and coils, new inner fenders, and hopefully some paint before summer's out.  Thanks for lookin.    Randy

Nice. What's the other project truck in the background?

Grim Thats a 57 that now sits on an 85 chassis, it's on the backburner until the gold truck is back together.

Hey Okie! What color are you planning on painting your '85? What is the total drop going to be?

Back the orig. Desert Sand (gold) you just don't see too many that color and it's grown on me. As far as the drop I'm not real sure but I think it's 5" and 4". I use this truck to tow a pontoon boat, and a car trailer occasionally so I don't think I'll go any lower.

My truck is finally back together. The weather cooled off and was able to get back on it. The headers, intake and Edel. carb woke the little Goodwrench motor up and it runs great. All new frontend stuff A-Arm bushings, ball joints, 2" Belltech drop spindles, 1" shorter springs, sway bar bushings. Now it rides and drives good again. Now it's time for paint and bodywork as money allows. Here's how it sits now.

Looking good! I like the wheel/tire combo you've got going? What did you end up doing with the rallys that you had on it originally?

I have the rallyes repainted and ready for tires. The old Americans actually are for my 57, but I'm going to run them on the 85 for awhile since the 57 isn't going anywhere for a long time. Eventually I might buy a set of the American 200s 15x8" then I would have 8"s and 7"s for both trucks. Once I get the truck painted then I'll decide on wheels, maybe something cool will pop up. I like having a couple of sets around just to change the look now and then.

I hear ya man! For my 77 I am want either 17x8 or 18x8 but I have not decided on a wheel yet. I'm sticking with a chrome or polished but that's as far as I've gotten:)

What headers are you using? I'm going to get some for my 87 soon.

Nice to see another Oklahoma trucker here. I'm in Broken Arrow :)

Hey we're neighbors! I'm on the edge of Tulsa in Catoosa. We'll have to get together sometime and say hi. I have the Hooker Comp headers on my 85 and they fit great.

Do they dip below the frame much? I've dynomax on mine right now and they dip below the frame a good 6" or so. Obviously, I'm not lowered so it doesn't matter much but I was just curious.
