Tailgate question

Ok I know on the different years the bracket on the tailgate is different, but if i have a tailgate from a 74 and the mounting brackets from a 74.....would the wholes match up to mount it on a 82 bed? I have a 74 truck and it had everything including the tailgate which isn't in bad shape but the floor of the bed was really bad, so I bought a 82 bed recently would i be able to move all the hardware over to the 82 without making any mods? or do I need to get a 82 tailgate?

You need the 74 mounting hardware from the 74 bed to work with the tailgate. You may need to cut the ears off of the 74 tailgate as well if the holes aren't there.

Oh ok thanks, yeah i have all the hardware from the 74
