Camouflage Paint Concerns

I have a lifted 87 Chevy 1/2  ton I recently did alot of sheet metal/body work, body filler, etc and am applying 800k 2k Limco Primer to the hole truck. I do not want to drive the truck with primer since its not a sealer and will absorb moisture from what I was told. I also cannot afford to paint the truck right now and don't really want to since it wont be a show truck. How ever I want to have a solid, rust free truck that will last and maybe some day I can sand it back down and paint it (im 17, lucky to even afford insurance)

So to the point, I thought I could cover this truck in flat camo colors. I know alot of places sell 3 or 4 color spray can kits. I have an idea on how to tape off the truck and spray paint it, but my main concerns are....

1. Do you think the spray paint will protect my primer/body work?

2. Any tips on patterns and techniques to achieve a good camo paint scheme, maybe you have done it before.

I would really appreciate any ideas, tips, paint brand suggestions, or pictures of what to do.

  I have painted several trailer's with camo paint.  One is my jeep trailer that I still use today.  My only suggestion is get some clear coat and apply over paint.  You can do this yourself and it does not cost very much, and will make the paint last longer.

I think that spray bombs will seal your paint just fine.
As far as the camo pattern, Stealsoldiers.com has some great info in the body section.
Rustoleum makes textured that comes in green, black, tan, and brown.I grabbed a can of the black to try on this junk Military blazer, and it feels like the original CARC paint.
Outburst4x4 started a thread about his Rustoleum paint job that you can find in the 73-87 general section.
Follow his lead and you will get a decent paintjob for about $100.

Also I have a nicely painted red interior and want to leave it. I was thinking to maybe accent a couple things on the outside with red or maybe rebel flags lol, not sure how that would look. I also have aluminum wheels with 37in tires, chrome bumpers too. Not sure how chrome will look, anyone seen it done before?

Also I have a general Idea of how many cans Ill need. Im going to guess around 25+

thanks for linking that thread irish!   i just came across this one and was going to do the same!  

so far my paint is holding up pretty good.   i thought i was going to need 25+ cans to do my truck, when in reality it only took ~ 12-15.

The local Maaco near me gets $750 for single stage paint on a pick up truck.

That $299 deal on TV is for a car. Show up in a full size truck and see what they give you for a quote.

I haven't heard anything good about maaco. I keep heating for that special the paint doesn't last long

You get what you pay for but the bottom line (from my experience) is that if you prep the car and drop it off to them with all of the trim removed, you can get an acceptable paint job for $299. You just have to be realistic about what to expect.
  Now i'm not saying it's a show quality paint job by any means, but if you have a cheap car for $299 you can get it to look half way decent.
  A few years ago before I got my used car license I used to help a buddy down at his lot. Back then you could get auction cars in the $150 range that ran good, just had dull paint. He would buy them, scuff them up, and have Maaco shoot them. He made a killing off of them.
  Like I said, I would pay $299 to get a beater car painted there, but around here they want $750 for a pick up.
