Well I kinda never got back to put more pics on here.
The old motor:

The new motor bolted in:

Pretty much buttoned up except the hood, and radiator:

Been running pretty good all winter, have a rattling / tapping noise but I can't seem to figure out what it is. Only hear it when on the gas!

Ohhh hood point vile. Does it sound like a bunch of beans rattling around in a tin can? Check your timing!

No exhaust leak, thats what I thought it was at first. Set the carb and timing at the same time with a timing light, and a vac gage. Only way I can get it to ping is if I lug it way down in top gear into a hill. checked the flywheel thing it was hitting, have looked and looked. Best myself and several of my friends can think of is one cylinder has a little piston slop. Its not bored, just honed, and new rings on the old pistons. I bought the motor in pieces, and a rebuild kit came with it, It was built about 15 years ago, never out 1,000 miles on it back then. I don't remember the noise back then though! Truck didn't make the noise with the old motor.  Oil pressure is great, it runs good. I guess I will know when what ever it is breaks!!!  ::)

It might sound a little crazy...  Might be a bad exhaust valve guide, I have only seen it happen a couple of times.. But it has to be pretty wore out for exhaust to blow up the valve stem into the valve cover.

Hmm, doesn't hurt to take a peak I guess. Never heard of that before. The heads were used that I put on it way back then. 1.94 305 mid 70s heads.
