Rear defrost?
« on: August 16, 2010, 04:35:37 am »
I know 1988+ extended cabs and 1992+ crew cabs were offered with rear defogger, were the square body pick ups available with it?

now that you mention it I don’t think I ever saw a 73-87 but im sure I haven’t seen a 88-98 with it either so that doesn’t mean nothing

I can't recall ever seeing one either. But I'm pretty sure there are add-on rear defrosters available.
There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

I came across a 1989-93 extended cab 3500 with what appeared to be factory rear defrost. The switch was the same as in a 1992-93 Blazer/Sub and had lines on the back window.

So i naturally wondered if the square bodied 1988-91 crew cabs had one optional...I'd add it if they did...Fieros had it, why not trucks?  ;D

Along the same lines, I need to see if there's a heated (and hopefully autodimming) mirror glass that will fit the factory power mirror housings.  8)

The 89-91 power mirror use the same glass/head as the 88-9? and Astro vans I believe, so if they are in those years you can swap them.
