Brothers has the 73-80 front side markers but from what I've seen 81 up is discontinued. I have a set on my pink truck and they look awesome. I really wish someone would start making them again and they do seem to be in demand.

I was going to buy the black ones today and just got lucky and found the all clear!!! HAD to get them 'cause never know when they will come up again. I prefer the clear OEM looking ones but impossible to find!!! I ordered some LEDs from summit so cant wait to see how they look. Hope it aint pink!!!

Also on my roll today I found a gauge overlay to change the color of the stock gauges, only thing out of stock right now!!! I'll update on those asap, It's alot cheaper than auto meters!!!

I've seen the clear OEM ones at RV shops. Some RVs had them.

I have a set of clear '81-87 clear side markers sitting on my bench that I snagged off eBay last year for $15. The trim surrounding them is black, but they look pretty factory.

I've been wondering/debating about that stuff they sell where you can create your own mold and make your own lenses.   ITs a plastic you pour yourself; guys with old/super rare cars use it because there's almost no way they can find a replacement for their tail lights so they make perfect copies of their old faded cracked lenses.

What I been thinking is to make a mold out of a stock lens and then make my own totally clear OE-copy lens.   I think on my gray truck some clear stock copy lenses would look really trick.   and they'd be unique.

Here's making the mold

Here's molding the lens

Here's the clear resin

Here's the MOLD materials
http://alumilite.net/Category.cfm?Category=Silicone%20Rubber

Here's a review of the process
http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/744.cfm

It would take a lot more product for a squarebody lens than the little one they're producing, but once the molds made, one could likely make many more of them.  Also I wonder how it would do with the lens being relatively large, curved and from the back, they're pretty deep.

I would LOVE to have a set of tail lenses and 73-80 front sidemarker clear lenses.  I'd make sure to find some NOS lenses so they would fit well, assuming they dont distort for whatever reason.

I just have so much going it's something I put off until I get bored some day... 8)  I saw this on an old car restoring show, they were using this to make new lenses for some packard.  But I have this info saved safely for future reference.

EDIT:   Now I been looking at prices...  haha  I can get what I need to mold some sidemarker lenses shipping n all for $57.   I might do it friday..    Anybody know how hard it is to get the orange and white part of a sidemarker apart?  ;D

Now I'm wondering what would happen if I tried to color match the lens to my trucks paint color...  would it work?  wouldnt be legal, but thats beside the point... it would be unique though, if the light is visible through it still....   hmmm   man im gonna get into trouble..... :D

As long as the bulb color shows up as amber I don’t see why they will bother you about it besides that it should be reflective that’s also a requirement but it’s hard to pick up on

Well I was going to post an update with pics of how great they turned out BUT...... while removing the old bulbs one busted and somehow caused all my running lights to short out!!! NOT GOOD!!! So since I was wanting to rewire the truck and get it out of the mangled mess its in now, I ordered the EZ wiring harness. While checking the fuses I noticed it was pretty damp up against the firewall. That cardboard stuff or whatever was falling apart and now thinking it being wet caused something to go wrong somewhere. I ordered a whole new rubber kit for the cab to replace all the stripping. Gotta clean the cowl area and see what the deal is there. Is there anything else i need to do in order to replace the old cowl seal besides remove the cowl? It may also be from water leaking down the inside of the windshield. P.O. bought new windshield and didnt put the trim back around it. Hopefully the kit solves the problem and theres no rust in the cowl area.

Now back to the tailights!!! They look great, fits in just fine, but no power to see how they look :'( Took them off because didnt want em to get hurt before I could get re-wired.

The sidemarkers came in as well look good fit good, just no power to show them as well. I did install them with led's before my little problem they look great and super bright.

The overlays had to be posted on ebay but I called them directly and ordered the white overlay for the gauges and heater a/c area, red needle paint, plastic polish (for my cluster lens all scratched up!!!) and white led's to replace all the dash lamps. 70 bucks, gonna do that while re-wiring. So I have enough projects to keep me busy

Was there a manufacturer name for the side markers?

They came in a white box with the sites adress and shrink wrapped. I don't see any manufacturer info or lables. Same as the tail lights. I wish there was some kind of info, it makes it easier to search for parts that way. If I was any kind of business savvy I'd give it a try to find out but I'd probly bomb it!

Check your fuse box.

Checked the fuses once over and the wiper fuse was out. So I replaced it and now I've got tail lights again!!! Don't know what the deal is? Only problem with them now is when I press on the brakes they dont light up any brighter. I'm a detention officer so I asked one of the deputies and a state trooper if a light bar would be sufficient enough and they said its fine!!! So new project!!! need new tailgate, new tailgate cover, gonna make me a custom setup with the fire and ice light bar.
