Fuel Line??
« on: September 06, 2010, 07:04:36 pm »
hey im pretty new to having my chevy truck on the road, after sitting up for about a year. its a 87 with a stock 350 v8. it has two gas tanks, i recently decided to fill my driver side tank and when i did fuel began to pour out from underneath. After further investigating i found the holes it was pouring from. Check out the pics and tell me whats missing? Currently i have them plugged them with rubber stops.

The fuel lines aren't there. That's the tank switching valve.

Well it looks like some of them are there. I think thats what that butchery job with the metal line that still has a flare nut on it that serves no purpose what so ever!
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Sounds like your right tank skips the switching valve and runs direct. Looks like the left tank is still connected to the switching valve, and the feed and vent lines that would run from the valve up front have been removed so the right tank could run direct.

Your switching valve was bypassed.  The drivers tank doesn't connect to the feed and return lines any more and now your are dumping the gas on the ground through the valve.
