Bed Liner Floor

Do you guys think if I put bed liner down over the floor(to seal the floor, and give me something to protect the bottom of my truck until I can order carpet for it. I was curious if I would have problems putting carpet over it, a few weeks or months later?

I did exactly that and you can't even tell there's bedliner once you put down carpet.  Be careful with water though, once it gets in, it stays there, i had to peel up one corner of my carpet to dry out because I left my window down when it rained.  I also went 6-8in up the sides and did the door sills.  best sealer in the world if you ask me.

Yea my trucks lowered 2wd, not really my daily either, so it won't see much water. I appreciate it though. thanks

Just put some high build/sandable primer on it, and pick up a set of cheap floor mats. That will keep you rolling until you can get carpet. The reason I suggest doing this is because I also suggest getting insulation for the floor. Either a factory replacement, or other sound deadening material. Without it noise, and heat is going to become a problem. This is in fact exactly what I'm doing with my K10. I'm going to insulate, and get a vinyl mat for mine. I'm to dangerous for carpet lol.

I used Herculiner inside the cab and on the door sills on mine and immensely regret it. It holds dust and dirt and the texture scratches anything that you might store under or behind the seat. I plan to use self adhesive sound deadener and I am sure that the texture will fight me during that process also. IMO, the only place bed liner belongs is in the bed.

I put Durabak in the floor of my CrewCab and then put carpet and insulation over it.

Thanks everybody for your input. I think Im going to put some kind of a liner or coating inside of the cab in the next few days.

I use trunk spatter paint. It hides all of your seams well and when dry is tough.
