roll in or spray can bedliner, that's not chunky?
« on: September 11, 2010, 07:33:13 pm »
I know you guys know what I'm talking about here. The chunks in the roll in DIY bedliners, we have a duplicolor or plastikote one in the 84 c10 and it's chunky, but is there any that isn't? Are the spray cans chunky? or another brand of roll in, maybe the new armor ones or whatever? I like the bedliner and want to put it in my 88 k1500 but don't like the chunks in it. I thought of undercoat but that wouldn't hold up well hauling I wouldn't think.

I used rustoleum spray bedliner before and it is not chunky, just comes out real fast so watch out for drips and runs.  Usually get it at walmart for like $8 a can

I have a similar bed liner type in my truck.   I have a bed mat in there also.   Pretty much, the DIY bed liners chunky or not, aren't gonna hold up to much hauling.  I only had the painter put it in my truck because it LOOKS better than paint would have as I wouldn't be putting money into filling and sanding up a truck bed to be pretty.  My bed mat does all the protection work, and already my wheel wells  are all skinned up from hauling stuff.   The stuff is stronger than paint but that's about all I can say for it, and it looks good.  ;D   I'm not sure what brand it is though, or if he sprayed it or rolled it, i assume he sprayed it.   I didn't ask because It didn't matter much to me since it was solely for looks, and he threw it in with the paint job because he thought using paint would be a waste since i haul with my truck.

I hope to get a spray in linex one day, as that or a drop in liner are the only things I know of that will truly protect the whole inside of the bed.

Just a thought, Line-X can spray their liners on with a smooth finish. Friend of mine got his fifth-wheel done like that.

yea line x and all might be good but not for my budget, herculiner aint in my budget for $100 it'd have to be as low as possible. Mines painted now and is like flat black and scratched I just want it to look better, mines dented and crap and doesn't matter.
