I had two on the palm of my hand one time when I was in highschool and I tried cutting them with a knife also but they would come back I ended up going to the doc and he froze them and after a week or so I was able to pop them off and they never came back.

Salicylic acid in a concentrated liquid---not the pads.  I had a bump form on my thumb after I stuck it while working on a parking brake cable...a thread of the cable came loose and the wire went right into my skin on my thumb and a bump formed on it.  No matter what, it would keep coming back after I tried tirmming it off and cutting it.  Finally I used a small bottle of Salicylic acid with a little application brush and 2 or 3 x a day i would brush the stuff on the bump.  I did this for about 2 or 3 weeks.  I was determined to get it off.  It would cause a white scab type thing, but I kept at it.  Finally it fell off and never returned. Compound W has salicylic acid...or you can go to Walgreens or CVS or some drug store and get a generic...just look at the active ingredients for the acid. It doesn't smell good either, but it works!  Don't worry about the insructions, i just kept applying the stuff when i would sit around watching TV, or whatever...just kept at it.

$15 on amazon:   look at the small words under the word Compound on the box...it says Salicylic acid

Think I might try that before I go to the docs and save some money. I know iv had at least one for most of my life it would go away and come back in another spot remember when I was little this farmer cut a cross in it added some mustard on it and wrapped it up with a band add don’t remember it falling off but it was gone in a little while but about 4 years ago I had only one then it disappeared only to reappear in a different spot then next thing I know I have another then another now I have one new one popping up. Its embarrassing cause I like to give hand shakes to friends and new people I meet, a nice firm hand shake. But now I find my self bumping fist just because I don’t want them to touch one :'( lol

The knife trick works but you have to dig the root out which makes it a bit more difficult, I had a buddy of mine do it for me on mine a few years ago now.

You have to take out "the root" so cutting it out might be bloody. my grandfather used to have an apparatus that would burn the skin with electricity (don't know why he had it) but it took care of one i had in my elbow. it was an impressive experience  :P

I was told to constantly apply high acidity vinegar to the warts, but I haven't tried it myself.

When I was a kid, both of my elbows were covered with warts. I had heard my family talking about my Great Grandmother being able to remove warts. We finally went to Tennessee to visit and I asked her to take them off. She told me to wait in the den and she went in the kitchen and I heard the water run a for just second. She came out with a plain old dish rag and made one pass on each elbow with it and told me to forget about them and they would go away. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later I looked and they were gone.
Since then I've had plenty, though. The best thing to do is the get the Dr to freeze them off. I had one Dr. burn some off my hands with that electric thing and it was painful to say the least. It works just like a welding machine. He hooked a cuff to my arm which was actually the ground and the little lead end would arc and draw fire. The smell of burning flesh is enough to make you puke by itself.

I wonder what grandma put on the rag in addition to water.
