NV4500 swap
« on: October 12, 2010, 06:48:50 pm »
Hey everyone. I'm swapping out the SM465 in my '75 chevy for a NV4500 5 speed out of an '88 chevy 1 ton pickup that had a 454.  Will the spline and size of the input shaft of the NV4500 be the same? Also, what about the bell housing? is it interchangeable?

not too sure about most of that but you will need to modify the crossmember and most likely convert to a hydraulic clutch assembly. good luck and keep us posted of your progress

I was told the NV4500 could be used with a manual clutch assembly?

I know the nv3500 93 and older you can swap bell housings with the 465. Here is some prices on a adapter plate if you wana keep the 465bell housing http://www.nv4500.com/product_info.php/cPath/3144/products_id/24275
