Dash & interior trim kits
« on: October 13, 2010, 12:07:36 pm »
I am sick of the same limited dash and interior trim kits that are available for our trucks and have been talking to someone who can make them. He indicated that he could produce them in the above mentioned flavors  ;) so I am using this post to gauge interest. Perhaps if enough people are interested in them Chris might be interested in picking him up as a vendor. Also please post pics of your custom interior dash and trim if you have some. Thanks

WOW this is interesting, actually i was thinking about doing a fiberglass PROYECT for my interior  ;D . I have never done fiberglass but saw a couple of videos on Youtube on "how to.." and thought that it would be a good idea and more cost effective  ;) , since a new set of door panels runs over 200 dlls each and the dash is about 400 dlls.
I was going thru the idea of repositionion some of the components, mainly I'm tired of changing the radio from my knees LOL.
Is there a prototype of this guys work? and how much is he selling them for? i would be interested !!

I like the alum. ones, but I'd rather have polished alum. I also like the old school wood grain stuff alot.

I would love to see carbon fiber kit to fit the 81 on up to dress up a custom deluxe interior.

I like the aluminum kits that are available and have it in my truck. I waited too long to buy the polished kit but the brushed is more practical for a daily driver. Polished would be more suited for a show truck.

I've looked up some aftermarket trim kits before and have found a pretty good selection. Different kind of woodgrain, colors, aluminum, carbon fiber, and some exotic trims. They are basically stick on with 3M. Not sure how long they would last so I kinda forgot about 'em and decided to do the same ol milled brushed interior but, I really want the trim of a woodgrain scottsdale I've seen online. Really glossy deep woodgrain on the doors, dash, and cluster. Match it with a nice grant chrome and woodgrain wheel! Make it luxurious on the inside and one mean street rod on the outside is my goal!!!

That's how I had my 84 K5 with really nice wood grain and I couldn't find any pics for some reason. They must all be in my attic but that looked sweet.

This is the wheel and kit I want to purchase. I already started with the aluminum kit, even got the driver vent cover and radio cover. Pieced together would be a nice set up!!! Even found one kit that has woodgrain pedal covers, steering wheel kit that covers your Chevy or GMC emblem, and the chrome moldings around the door handles. Seemed too much for the woodgrain but I can see someone doing a nice setup with carbon fiber.

I like the look of aluminum but the same billet kits that have been around since the 90's are boring. I always think a nice burled walnut looks classy in vehicles.

I think the carbon fiber could be cool. I don't know about camo so much but perhaps a checkered flag type of pattern? The interior might look way too busy like that though; I'd have to see it.

I'm bored with all the available stuff too. I really dig wood grain or brushed aluminum.I'm wanting a glossy black anodize to pop the black suede I wrapped my dash with

I would consider a brushed aluminum. The wood grain would be cool too.
