carb identifying question

So I've got a carb in my 1978 C10 350 5.7l auto with the number 17058213 BJB2527.

Did this carb come out of a different truck? Namely a manual transmission truck...

It would explain why it feels a little off, as the previous owner did a lot of crap to it 1/2 A**'d.


With a rebuild...will this carb function fine with this engine/tranny, or should I search for the original carb?

Found my clymers manual...its not even in that book. Found a site that says odd numbers where the three is (1705821 >3< 2377), means manual tranny. So confused.

Went to change my fuel filter an looked up the part # at autozone, the one their comp shows for my make and model was way too long. So I know I can't have the original carb.

Computers are only as smart as the person, that puts the info in them. Lots of errors get entered everyday. I say you have the correct carb.

The q-jet off of my 82 that was originally a manual trans didn't have the provision for a kickdown cable on the throttle linkage. As long as your carb has it you should be good to go.

How's "tomco" with their rebuild kits? Garbage? Its all I see on ebay. Help! My carb is leaky!

Found a decent deal on a rebuilt rochester. Gonna go that route... I'm sure there's plenty wrong with mine other than its seals.
