Dana 60 Cross over steering
«

I have an 80 K30, building a pulling truck/ weekend fun truck. It has a dana 60 up front. Has an 8 inch suspension lift with a 3 inch body lift. Right now it has a straight draglink setup with a riser block between the knuckle and the steering arm. It has the 2wd steering box. I am going to be lowering the truck to a 4inch suspension lift and keep the 3 inch body lift. My question is, do I need to take out that riser block and put that steering arm right onto the knuckle? Do I need to get the bent draglink or will the straight one work? I know ORD makes all the components, I'm just wondering if I can make something work with what I have. Thanks in advance

If you are going to a 4" lift you might get by with the stock configuration or if necessary use the riser block, a raised steering arm, or a Z drag link. You should be able to make it work with what you have, and maybe even have leftover parts when you are done.

I ripped my steering gear out of the frame with a 4in suspension lift and 33in tires and no steering arm. Now I have welded frame and new raised steering arm lol.
My opinion I would use the riser. Not sure on the draglink, I have yet to make the conversion to dana 60.

I'm not following you here. Are you converting to crossover steering? If so the drag link runs parallel to the axle so using a drop link makes no sense.

No. I have crossover steering on it now. I guess my question was, will the straight drag link work when I lower it. I have a feeling it will hit the engine crossmember.

I don't see how it hasn't hit all ready if you tried or got the passengers tire up in the wheel well

You might have to shorten the bar a bit

Should I keep that riser block by the steering arm or do I put the steering arm right on the knuckle?
Thanks,
