wiper switch??

could someone school me on how the 3 speed wiper switch with round knob works.is it intermediate? i have no owner manual.1980 chevy C20

Does it have an arrow on it, if so it is intermediate, other wise 2 speed, Hi and Low.

yes it has arrow. i haven't driven this truck, just getting it put back together.my other trucks have standard wiper switches.i have no clue how this switch works other then when i turn it on the first click does nothing .next click wipers are regular speed third click must be high.no washers when i push round button.

1st click, turn the know in the direction of the arrow.

I find the pumps on these systems always go. I've just learned to live without squirters until I get motivated and upgrade to the newer style. (85+).

The replacement pumps now for these coming from places like NAPA are electric and not the same mechanical vacuum pump as original.  I have one on my '77 K20 and it works Great!  Provides more power to squirt higher-up than just the first few inches and provides a pretty good volume.  Simple plug and play.  The downside is that you don't hear the mechanical clicking anymore as the cam rotates round and round!  ;D
