Body mount advice

I'm going with stock mounts. As far as the cab goes, is there any brand better than the other? They seem to be made out of pretty much the same material.

None are better in my opinion. They are all just rubber mounts.

Don't mean to steal your post, but is there any way I can drill a hole in a 2in square piece of 2x4 to make do as body mounts until I have a hundred bucks for the mount kit? I know it will be bumpy, but it can't be much more bumpy then hardly any mounts at all.

Oooooooo. Didn't think of a hockey puck. Smart! Those are only, what, like 4 bucks a piece?

I wanted to both insulate my bed and raise it half an inch so my drag slicks didn't rub. I grabbed a rubber roller from Pro Bass that is used on a boat trailer. I then sliced donuts out of it with my chop saw. The worked great. They are a very dense rubber. I think it was like $12 to $15. Obviously you have to get the cylinder shapped not the cone shape. They are about a foot long. I wish I had pictures for you but I am stuck over seas atm.

Ya know...at first I chuckled when I read about making your own body mounts. But that rubber roller idea is pretty clever. 2x4, not so sure.

Haha, thanks. I would never do that for the body unless I had no other choice but it works well for the step side bed.
On a side note on this subject, what do you guys do to stop the squeaking of new poly body mounts? Mine squeak something awful under the cab. Some sort of grease and what type?

If your body mounts are squeaking something probably isn't properly torqued.
