how wire up a stero

OK have everything i need now for my stereo, Small problem there are NO wires at all for a stereo in my truck. everything has been pulled out by the previous owner.  So where do i start.
wires it says i need to have:
ground ( no problem)
battery (can i get this from the fusebox)
illumination (?)
ignition (?)

The ones with (?) i have no clue where to get them from or how to find them. any help here would be very much appicerated

Ignition can be a switched 12V source from the fusebox. Not sure but I don't think you need the illumination wire.

If you have a LED face then you don't need power to the illumination wire.  Ground is anywhere you can put a screw into anywhere on the dash.  On the 73-87 trucks I usually attach it to one of the screws that hold the bezel on since the bezel wraps around the radio hole.  Battery and ignition you can rob from the fuse box. With the key off using a test light find a blank spot in the fuse box that is getting power, that is constant.  For the ignition or switch power find a spot with the key on that is hot but shuts off when the key is off.  It will probably take you several tries to find a spot that works. If you do have an analog stereo then just tie the illumination and the ignition wires together or find another switch or constant power to tie it into.

My 87 K5 has a Ground Bus on the left side of the dash behind the AC vent.

There are source taps at the fuse box for everything you need.
