homebuilt trail rig
« on: December 29, 2010, 01:24:27 pm »
has anybody built a trail rig out of one of these old chevys? i seen one a while back on craigslist here in ky somewhere and it was awesome..it was a 70s or 80s model 1/2 ton frame with 3/4 ton axels..they had removed all the body and custom built one..it had a 350 and a 4 speed standard and exhaust stacks to boot..and they had taken some tractor rims and tires and cut the centers out and welded in the chevy 8 lug pattern..if i had the money i would have loved to had it or maybe build one myself one day

There's a thread on this site about a highly modified suburban trail rig. If you can find it, it's worth a read. Lots of custom work and cool ideas

EDIT: here it is   http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=10466.0
