oil dipstick

could someone tell me right quick how the dipstick tube attaches to the motor? checked my oil and the tube moved. like pulled the stick out and when i went to reslide the stick sat down and at that point i could feel it move. can wiggle it with my hand badly. dont want crap fallin down in the tube so will replace. anyone? anyone? beuller? beuller? just kiddin........thanks guys.

it just presses in.  There is a ridge about 1 1/2 inches up from the end of the dipstick housing---the housing is the male end and slides into the block part and stops at the ridge.

i guess i should've asked what it was going in, but, this is what mine looks like.  some have a clip that will bolt to the engine as well....but like this, mine just is tapped into place....
