wheel hub size
« on: January 02, 2011, 10:18:36 pm »
Hey guys buying some wheels and tires off of CL for my 75 chevy 4x4 with dana 44.  The wheels are 16" stock GM wheels from a 89 k2500.  My question is will the hub size clear my hub on my front axle the part that the hub goes through.  If not no big deal because the tires are bfg at 295/75/16 and I can put them on my current wheels otherwise, just got to thinking, thanks.

Don’t think so. Since they went to independent front the hubs are smaller. could be wrong but im pretty sure

OK I hear ya there Irish, I was thinking since its a 3/4 ton truck wouldn't the rear axle hub stick through also and that is a pretty wide hub too for the rear.  Might not be thinking about it right though its 4:30 am here?  Thanks.

anyway what do you guys think for a set of 4bfg at tires 295/75/16 2-95% tread and to are 50% tread still worth it for just the tires.

Also they came with 6 lug. Here's my grandfather's 89 I know its the rear but look how small the hub is

and that much for used tires no I wouldn't do it just for them

The 88+ 2500's came in both 6/8 lug set patterns.
The rims from my 2000 2500 (8 lug) will not bolt up to the 81-87 8 lug pattern.
As Irish pointed out, the center hole is to small.
