blazer rear leaf swap question

I put a 6 inch lift in on my blazer with blocks on back when I noticed that there is only one rear leaf on each side holdin everything together. Most of the junk yards around here dont have any 73-91 blazers or 73-87 chevys so I was thinkin would a 88-98 chevy rear leaf work instead? thanks marc

that out of the 4 or 5 sprongs in the spring pack only the top spring and the bottom spring arent broken or cracked all the others inbetween are craked or broken right over the axles

Its easier and safer to get the right springs. Are you lifting the blazer or just replacing the broken pack?

its already lifted now i wish i woulda went with a lift kit with springs all the way around i only noticed this when I put the rear blocks in. what would use think if I just replaced all the other springs and left the top one.

Springs have different rates depending on application so mixing leaves could have them fighting each other in the pack. You can always buy rear springs separately. You probably wont get info from anyone on here that would be half azz or dangerous.

thats a great point beastie I never even thought of diffrent spring rates and I just looked to night and the top spring is cracked on the passenger side so I guess il have to get new rear leafs. shoulda never cheaped out on my lift >:(. rear springs are the better way to go anyway right ???

Yes, full springs are better than blocks.
