94 blower

any body ever tried or heard of putting a blower motor out of a 94 chevy pickup in our squarebodys i heard they move a lot more air than ours just wonderin if it would work i might try it tomorow

Yes, I just recently did that, and it was a direct swap for my 82. The 94 motor came with a new fan, so you won't need to re-use the old one. I'm guessing the 94 motor has a few more windings in it. It seems to have alot more power, and doesn't really cost any more. Go for it.

     Just anouther reason I love this site, I know have a folder on my comp. that has about 20 files saved from threads on this foroum that as I rebuild my truck I want to include or do upgrades.  Cangrats to everyone for all the imformation here.

Me too! My AC blows cold but it just never felt like it was blowing hard enough, even with a new fan.

So the '94 motor doesn't match up to my '80 non a/c truck-the heater box is not deep enough. It does however match up to my '84 a/c truck. I may however modify the box at some point.

So I'm correct that this setup will work in an Original A/C equipped truck, like a '78 model?

Also what 94 do you order the fan for?  94 chevy truck WITH A/C, or Without?

i never got around to doing it i got busy with rust repair but im going to do it soon along with fix my AC

I had one of the newer blower motors in my truck. They do move a lot more air than the stock ones. Mine actually moved a little bit too much air and completely shattered the fan. Took it out in pieces and put a brand new stock one back in. This was probably my fault anyway cause i got it out of the junkyard. Worked nice for a couple days. Gave its life to warm up my hands one cold afternoon. May just order a new one for the 94, i do like it a lot better than the stock one.

Glad you revived it! Cause now I know about this. But yeah I have the same question as you. I would assume, that if you have AC, you'd get a fan off a 94 truck/burb/blazer that also had AC. Can anyone confirm? I have had a problem with this from day 1 with my truck. Makes a lot of noise on high, but doesn't move much air. I even looked at all the air plumbing and couldn't find anything that could be causing that much of a problem.
