If you want a "correct" restoration, a 62-63 motor never came in it and a 327 was never offered.  As for "worth it", if you want to use it there is nothing wrong with it.  (90% of people selling trucks always say they have Corvette motors, it means absolutely nothing)

Small Journal 327 is the size of where the crank mates to the block.  For instance all 350 blocks are large journal.

Yeah I guess that would make sense,so I paid $1000 for a truck with four wheels, a frame with minimal rust, and an engine that runs but was advertised as a corvette motor... Oh well its all a learning lesson. I looked up the VIN on the truck and the original motor in this truck was a 5.0L 305 cubic inch V8 with either 2bbl or 4bbl not sure.

Keep in mind only "RARE" specialty trucks are going to be worth much when it comes to restoring.

Yeah I'm not really looking for "worth" cause I don't plan to get anything back out of fixing this up, besides self satisfaction. I always loved this model/style of truck, so I figured I would get an old beater and fix it up, since I've never had much experience with mechanical work, besides HWMMV's in Iraq, something I felt I needed to improve on so I would just buy something I wanted and fix it up. Thats about it I'm going to take some better pictures of the truck tomorrow and post them up in the correct thread.

self satisfaction.
That's what's it's really all about owning one of these.
Real trucks are built, not bought Build thread

Give me a long enough lever and a place to stand, and I shall move the earth or break this bolt...Whatever, just hold my beer!
