you checked all your plugs to see if there's spark, maybe weak spark? What shape are your wires in.

What did you replace your distributor with? Is it a vacuum advance HEI or an ESC distributor?

no, that's the ignition coil. The pick up coil requires removing the distributor from the intake.

Harmon, I am going to combine this thread as you skipped over the details in the other thread and have the same questions. I posted a link on how to replace a pick up coil for you. Take a picture of your existing distributor. Replace the distributor if you don't know where it came from with one like the one I recommended. You can't really go wrong especially with the price.

you could always do what i do, go to a slavage yard and pull a distributor from an engine for $20 and keep it in your garage for a spare. If you have ignition problems, pull out the spare and drop it in. Plus, you'll have spare parts (ign module, pickup coil, ign. coil, rotor, cap etc..).

This is why we suggested replacing the whole distributor or getting parts tested. Now you have replaced everything but the pickup coil and still have the same problem. So the problem probably going to be the pick-up coil. I can see how you got the pickup coil confused with ignition coil. But that’s why we were telling you how to go at this. We don’t have anything to gain by helping people sometimes we need help all but God himself “vile” lol j/k.
