Well i have been driving my truck for the past 2 months without a drivers side window,
and living in michigan, its not very fun. well we have an old dump truck that we havent
used in a long time so i was wondering if a drivers side window out of the dump truck will fit
in my 86 K10. Thanks

If I remember correctly the glass thickness might be a little too thick for the window channel, but you might be able to swap over all the window felts to get it to work...

Should fit fine. The 86 has thinner glass even in the medium duty trucks. think it was around 78 / 79 they started using thinner side glass in all GM trucks C / K 10s right through the C 70s. As stated you might have to use the felt channels too.

Should fit fine either way, 76 doors probably won't need to swap the track felts.

Here's a pic I took of the difference between 73-80 and 81-up window channels. They are both new and aftermarket.
Top is a 73-80 seal and bottom is 81-up seal.

my window channels are long gone, the only thing i need a window for is the rain. cause i really dont like getting in and having a wet ass for the entire day. and if its raining, i usually dont drive it. so would i really have to change anything to get it to work? just to be held in and keep my interior from getting wet?

Is all the window felt trashed? On most trucks of this age the horizontal window felts inside and out are most likely already gone and dry rotted, but the vertical window felt that goes up and around the top of the door is where I would think you would have a problem.

For what you're wanting, they'll work just fine. If you can though try to use some kind of rubber something in the front channel on the vent window. if there's no rubber anywhere to cushion the glass, one good bump and it'll shatter it. Just look to have it cushioned in the rolled down position.
