tie rod issue

Ok I pretty sure I already know the answer but just to be sure here is my problem. i just installed new tie rods on my truck , 85 4x4 axl is a 78 1st design. My tie rods ends are super close on the ends one side is even hitting the rim. Is this just a matter of turning the adjustment in a little more. i know i have to get a alignment after i have done all of this. Right now i still trying to get the rebuild done and driveable enough to get it to the station.

Buddy I know nothing about 4WD trucks, but I have ran into that issue on my 2WD. It seems as though some of the new tierods are bigger castings than others. The last set I bought I had to take a die grinder and clean them up a bit to clear the wheels. There's a lot of meat there you can remove safely. Hope this helps.

I dunno what your talking about, maybe because i dont have a 1st design. take a pic. my tie rods are connected to the knuckle.

hitting the tire?? the first style has a long divers side almost reaches the passengers side then a adjustment sleeve then a smaller tie rid almost the size of the 2nd or 3rd style

Yep! Hitting the rim.The pass side is rubbing. I noticed the lifetime warranty ones are much bigger. I guess I am going to have to go back to the cheap one as it is smaller
