I'm actually putting that kit in my truck on friday. I'll take some pics of the completed project.

I used that exact kit in my 74, and it was a lifesaver. My dad thought I was going to RotoZip my dash to death, but the metal plate works really good with a permanent marker to make a template. Make sure that you are extremely careful with how you cut the plastic bezel, though. Mine cracked and burned when I tried it with the RotoZip. I still haven't figured out what the best way to cut that thing with would be. It would have to be low-heat and sharp as heck, like one of those car model cutting knives (zacto blades, i think they're called).

I just cut mine with a hot knife. I bought it at Lowes for like 14 bucks and it comes with a soldering iron. It worked beautiful! I'll post pics later

Just take a 4 1/2" grinder and cut the metal under the plastic.  Then take a soldering gun (with flat blade) and melt the plastic to fit the rectangular shape of the newer stereos. It took me about an hour to do this....
