This was the first system I whipped up a couple years ago. It's all being redone. I have leather buckets in now too with a custom console to go in, new kick panels, new amp rack probably going in the bed, etc. It was built for SQ competiton.

Amp/EQ rack

3-way kick panels. I have custom perforated grilles for them I made too out of stainless steel

Underhood power fusing with custom Lexan battery cover. The battery is now an Optima yellow top

A sub box for a single 8 on my tranny tunnel. Looks bigger than it was in that photo. You'd be suprised at how well it sounded.

My deck. The texture coating I put on the custom ABS trim plate didn't match the grain on the plastic dash as well as I'd hoped, but that's getting redone anyway

Some wiring detail:

85 Chevy Silverado C10 short, wide, yellow, 2wd. Lowered, 60-over 350 with Dart Iron Eagle heads and Comp Cams XE268 cam, TH350 w/ shift kit, 3.40 Gov-lok 12 bolt.

What kind of seating to you have? Buckets demands a cool full-length console wtih some curves in it. Or be brave and do a cut-through so your sub box and your amps are in the bed, but the subs fire thru into the cab.

Here's a few quick pics of my cheap-o setup.  I had this stuff laying around for years now waiting till my truck restoration was nearing completion.  I will get some photos of the CD player and the tweets in the dash later too.

This truck's an off road built toy, so it has a rubber floor mat in there and I guess it would be pointless putting really nice stuff in there when you plan to remove mud later with a garden hose!

The cool thing is the connections are all sealed up watertight on anything on the floor or remotely near where I will clean the floor out.

It sounds pretty good!

Specs:
Alpine CD player
2 JBL tweeters in dash
2 MB Quart 2 way 100 watt speakers in doors
(both of the above powered by head unit)

2 Pioneer 200 watt 6x9's
1 Soundstream 300 watt sub
Alpine 4 channel amp 75w x 4 (I have this bridged on both sides feeding the 6x9's)
Old school Fosgate Punch 40 (Bridged and feeds the sub)

I did the cut thru on an 84 swb I had..had 2 cerwin-vega 15"s and 2 alpine 10"s in the bed, pointing right into the seat..1600 watts of Precision Powers Amps,Epicenter,etc....the bed was speaker enclosure from front to just behind the rear wheels..had all MB Quarts (sp?) mids and tweets.. it was all high end stuff at the time, now I'm showing my age..this was in about 1992 or so ..  it made 133db in it's best tune up ;D
