Got a price of 143.00 installed for a new one with the antenna in it. Is this in the ballpark? Thanks!

Nothing wrong with that. I paid $100 for the glass and still had to buy new lockstrip and put time into it.

I paid 125 for mine with the lock strip. But theres a windshield from a parts truck on craigslist right now for 50 bucks no chips or cracks.

My windshield has the blue tint strip at the top and the antenna in the window. It was 115 for just the windshield.

There's a place here in San Antonio, TX next to Pick-A-Part that will change out the windshield on our trucks for $109 and that includes labor.  Without labor, it's $20 less.

Thats about what I paid for mine, and they came to me to install it. Then came back out and fixed the leaks I found after it rained.

Thats the biggest thing, leaks. Make sure you see what their warranty on work is. I used Safelite because they have a nationwide warranty.

I used SafeCo or something like that. (I'd have to find the paperwork, and I am not yet done unpacking.) But they did come out and fix it under the warranty. I would not have paid for it, it was their bad!

I was also happy to find no rust in the cowl when he had the windshield out. One less thing to worry about.

Had the windshield installed. The installer had it in quick and I asked him why he didn't use any sealer? He said it wasn't needed. I told him that I had read (on here, but didn't tell him where....thanks for the info!) that the sealer was critical in a roll over crash to keep the windshield intact. Asked if it wasn't a law to use it? He didn't answer....just went and got the sealant.  ;D

Congratulations, now the area around your windshield will rust out like what happened on my 1982 Suburban.  However, your windshield won't fall out in the event of a roll over.

It was never glued in from the factory since it was held in with the rubber.  But the issue comes when somebody violently rolls the vehicle over and gets thrown out due to the windshield popping out and then not wearing a seat belt.  You can greatly minimize the risk by not driving under the influence, taking a rest when drowsy and wearing a seat belt.

you could but lest say someone else in another car has a drink or to and t bones you or causes you to swerve. i think due to weather seals leaking has cause rust for most of us i know for me it has so this sealant if it blocks out water im for it. granted my mom rolled her ford well flipped it end over end she was thrown out the back window the bed smacked her and flung her 10 or so feet in front on the truck when it stopped flipping all she got was a chipped bone in her thumb and some bruises
