6.2 to SBC swap help needed
« on: June 22, 2011, 08:05:12 pm »
quick and to the point...i did a search and found some minor info but looking for a bit more info.
i have an 84 (originally a 305) and looking at another 84 with a 6.2. diesel doesnt run and i want to use that body for my SBC. possibly a tall deck later. anyhow what other than the motor mounts and exhaust will be needed? the 6.2 has hydraboost and i want to swap that to a conventional setup also. whats the easiest way to make it happen? what parts will be needed to make the diesel swap to gas? i read that the bulkhead and engine harness are different, and if the bulkhead is diff then the interior/cluster harness are different too???
any help greatly appreciated. and just as an FYI and to streamline the info given i'm pretty handy around chevys. i have built 2 small blocks, one ran 11.80s on 93 octane. also i have built a th350 and a 12 bolt. wiring isn't my strong point though....
thanks!

It's easy enough to do. Just follow the wiring diagrams for any gas set up. I've posted them numerous times.
