well i got down to the inverted torx and the hub, as i call it is loose. is there something its missing or what

well my steering column is loose so i followed the instructions to take it off i got to where the common problem is i was wondering the shaft that holds the steering wheel is loose i can see into the column is something missing

So, you can see around the inner shaft in the column and your steering wheel is sloppy? I havent taken apart a column yet, so I cant help you, but is that what you are saying?

you took the whole steering column off? when you say your steering wheel is sloppy, do you mean when you turn the wheel, or do you mean up and down and left and right?

sorry been a long mornin. upper steering shaft bearing retainer and race. is the race pressed in? i think i need a new retainer mine is screwed ip bad! thats probably my problem.gonna go to a junkyard and pull some parts
