Vapor canister filliung up with gas.
« on: July 23, 2011, 04:41:48 pm »
Has anyone out there ever had raw gas pour out of the vapor canister? I have an 87 silverado 350 tbi. It only does it in very hot weather and I mean gas pours out with engine running or not. If I remove the gas cap it stops so i tried a new cap, but no difference. If I ever have problems they are always head scratchers.

Plugged vent or solenoid or hoses are incorrectly routed.

Sounds to me like your tbi might need a rebuild. Fuel was leaking out of my carb into onr of the vacuum lines and ended up leaking fuel into my oil through the pcv valve. I had to cap the vacuum line. Is the vent line on your sending unit hooked up and not plugged? You could try a vented gas cap.
