On my 1985 the vacuum line enters inside the cab just to the right of the AC box.  Mine has a hard plastic line that is T'd off behind the air-cleaner from direct vacuum that also goes to the vacuum canister.  I took a picture and if I can figure out how to point to it with a picture paint program I will post it.
